Lead Technician QHSE

Job Summary

The Lead Technician QHSE will be responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Primoris Services Corporation's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems across designated projects and operations. This role involves proactive field presence, technical support, and guidance to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement in QHSE performance.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of QHSE procedures, work instructions, and risk assessments.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to project teams and contractors on QHSE matters, including safe work practices, environmental protection, and quality control.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver QHSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Support the management of QHSE documentation, records, and reporting systems.
• Monitor and report on QHSE key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to performance reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to foster a strong QHSE culture.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal QHSE regulations, as well as client-specific requirements.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a QHSE role within the construction, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal and state QHSE regulations.
• Strong understanding of QHSE management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Ability to conduct effective site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
• Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, CSP, CHST, or equivalent are highly desirable.
