Lead Technician - Mixer Dryer
Provides support to NSL Operations in troubleshooting process equipment, designing and building new equipment, and improving operability of existing equipment with maintenance and engineering. Manages inventory of operating supplies and, under the direction of the EHS Manager, oversees process waste streams and disposal.
Responsibilities
- Follows and supports all environmental, health, and safety initiatives
- Proactively addresses identified safety hazards and eliminates unsafe conditions
- Adheres to all safety programs, SOPs, and GMPs
- Coordinates assigned work with operations, maintenance, and QA departments
- Works with Engineering/Maintenance to resolve processing issues
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
- Supports projects to enhance working conditions and equipment efficiency
- Manages process waste streams and waste disposal as assigned
- Tracks waste disposal quantities and costs
- Consults with the production supervisor to maintain alignment of responsibilities
- Demonstrates management’s commitment to safety
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial operations
- Must be at Process Technician level 3
- No disciplinary actions within the last 12 months
Skills
- Experience working with maintenance on overhauling and PM’s of rotating equipment
- Experience with waste management and handling/shipping of hazardous waste
- Understanding of GMP and OSHA standards
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel
- Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including proper use of protective clothing and adherence to hygiene standards
Environmental and/or Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Standing for long periods of time
- Working in a dusty environment
- Able to wear a respirator (must be clean shaven) and other required personal protective equipment
Schedule
Full-time schedules available:
- 2nd shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am - Eligible for two $2.00/hour premiums (12-hour shift & Night Shift)
2-2-3 Schedule:
- Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday
Payday is every other week on Fridays.
