Aecon Technical Solutions Inc. (ATSI), a key business unit within Aecon Utilities, focuses on telecommunications and technology infrastructure installations for residential, retail, commercial, institutional, and hospitality environments. This role involves leading field teams in fiber cable installation and repair, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and lead all field performance requirements to meet or exceed established Installation and Service benchmarks.
  • Participate in performance management reviews and provide feedback to strengthen team performance.
  • Ensure all technicians comply with uniform and safety policies.
  • Support telecommunication installation activities, including vehicle management, inspections, and reporting.
  • Present training courses to new employees or update the team on new processes.
  • Update training materials and create new process training courses as needed.
  • Execute quality-of-work inspections and coach technicians on quality installations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Field Technicians, Operations Support, and end users to ensure effective communication and seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct field visits with technicians as required.
  • Complete all required documentation for Safety, Quality Assurance, and Vehicle Maintenance purposes.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are inspected regularly and kept in good working condition.
  • Manage and track customer complaints and resolution.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills, both internally and externally.
  • Technically inclined with a desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Installation and repair experience in fiber cable installation and excavation.
  • Willingness to travel as required and provide a clear driving record annually.
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Ability to work in varying heights and spaces in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Evening and weekend work is required.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours when required.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Office work: sitting for periods of time, utilizing telephone and computer.
  • On the road: sitting in a vehicle, driving, and completing paperwork.
  • Job site: periodically uses locate equipment (25 lbs) and 20 lbs transmitter; capacity to lift and work with materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights with ladders or bucket truck (training will be provided).

Pay

The expected pay range for this role is $26 - $30 per hour. Individual pay is determined based on work location, education, experience, unique skills, job conditions, certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.

Schedule

This is a full-time permanent role requiring at least 30 hours per week, including evening and weekend work as needed.
