LEAD TECHNICIAN

Key Job Duties

• Exhibit mastery of assembly/disassembly techniques and strong mechanic’s hand tool abilities.
• Oversee repairs, modifications, and improvements to race cars between events.
• Work closely with team engineers, fabricate parts, and conduct parts testing as needed.
• Inventory and maintain a complete spares list.
• Submit proper electronic order sheets for replacement parts/spares post-event.
• Assemble and prepare spares and new parts.
• Lead and direct other crew members during incidents at the race track (e.g., motor swaps, crash repair).
• Account for all parts and supplies used from the trailer during a given race event.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, bending, heavy lifting, crawling under car, pushing vehicles, carrying and loading equipment.

Travel

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Leadership and management knowledge.

• Vehicle problem diagnosis and solution abilities.
• Data entry and computer skills.

About The Role

Responsible for the overall preparation and maintenance of the race team. Should provide quality control of crew member’s preparation of vehicles and equipment as well as a constant barometer of team needs, spares parts, equipment, etc.
