ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform an initial startup on a new production run after mold sets are complete.
- Work on processes to improve production efficiencies and reduce high scrap rates.
- Research problems with equipment and tooling and take corrective action.
- Troubleshoot process issues in the factory and consult with tool designer and project engineers for solutions.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Document and record processes for all production runs for each customer.
- Perform daily rounds and checks at each workstation:
- Are all waterlines on and circulating through the molds and mold heater units?
- Is water on the barrel throats?
- Are waterlines routed to the mold properly and don’t have leaky fittings?
- Are water tanks circulating and the heaters working if used?
- Are drop bars set properly?
- Are dryers working and setup correctly?
- Review of all electrical cords, air hoses, oil temperature, etc.
- Set mold and start jobs according to standard procedures as instructed by supervisor or upper management.
- Perform all aspects of changeover required for converting molding machines to various production of sample jobs.
- Pull jobs out and perform minor mold maintenance and repair, including cavity, core and/or base changeover, as required.
- Maintain good communications with your Quality Control Department to insure quality products are produced on your shift and at start-up.
- Follow established procedures for the proper storage of molds and equipment.
- Keep set-up records in order and insure that set-up records are 100% accurate when filling them out.
- Take care of the equipment – use proper length bolts to fasten molds so threads are not stripped, watch centering rings, bumping of machines tie bards, safety gates and drop bars with the mold. Use care with auxiliary equipment.
- Stage molds and equipment for upcoming jobs.
- Stage break periods so machinery is not left idle. This may require and early or late break.
- Accurately complete all record keeping forms.
- Report problems, needs, and equipment breakdowns to your supervisor so it can be corrected.
- Assist with required machine and/or equipment adjustments and troubleshooting to insure safe, efficient operations as directed by shift supervisor.
- Operator the forklift as required.

- Accurately complete all record keeping forms.
- When called upon or in case of an emergency, be qualified to assume supervisors responsibilities on a temporary basis.
- All other duties as assigned by your shift supervisor or management.
SUPERVISION (TEMPORARY BASIS)
- Attend and participate in daily Production/Quality meetings.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Review production schedules and assign work for each employee, department and work center as production orders require.
- Monitor productivity and attendance of employees.
- Perform daily rounds to every workstation to inspect and review production standards and employee engagement.
- Explain specifications, and work instructions to employees to ensure all jobs are running to all specifications.
- To oversee all setups in production and to ensure everything is set to approved standards.
- Initiate or suggest ways to enable workers to achieve work goals.
- Perform an annual review with each employee to discuss overall work performance.
- Assist with annual reviews of Quality and Warehouse employees.
- Administer company policies to all employees and to take further actions as needed.
- Analyze and resolve personnel problems, and assist personnel in solving problems when necessary.
- Administer company safety guidelines to promote and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Initiate warnings and disciplinary actions with employees as needed.
- Establish and meet annual goals in conjunction with Plant Manager and corporate goals.
- Responsible for overall quality and to produce items that meet all SK/Customer specifications.
- Communicate with Quality Assurance on quality concerns and take appropriate actions.
- Oversee the Quality and Warehouse Managers directives of Inspectors and Shipping Attendants.
- Review and sign off on Monthly internal Safety Audits performed on your shift.
- Fill out any and all accident reports with employees that occur on company property.
- Administer and monitor rework/rejection activities in conjunction with quality assurance.

- Participate in-group and individual training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other duties as required or directed by management.
- Directly supervise employees on any/all shifts in the factory departments.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
