Responsibilities
- Focal point between third party consultant and company as well as topside engineering contractor.
- Ensure that the assigned scope of work is delivered technically feasible and within the project schedule.
- Prepare the TBE on third party consultants based on the safety study proposal.
- Review reports from third party consultant.
- Ensure that interdisciplinary coordination for input collection to feed into the respective safety studies.
- Manage the interface issues and coordination with topside contractor (if any) concerning technical safety engineering matters.
- Identify, review, and follow up on recommendations from safety studies with the relevant party to take into consideration in design.
- Support Project Management Team on CTR, MDR, and schedule development and updates.
- Develop design safety philosophy.
- Review active and passive fire protection philosophy and specification.
- Coach junior engineers and provide guidance as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as per project requirements assigned by the project manager (project-specific).
- Participate in IDC of documents in EDMS.
- Notify the Engineering Manager and the Regulatory Compliance Manager if additional resources are required for the current project, ensuring the vessel is designed and built according to technical safety requirements without jeopardizing the overall schedule.
- Review the TBE submitted by third party safety studies and prepare a brief.
- Manage and monitor safety studies issuance and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
- Master's or Diploma in Process Safety and Risk Engineering, and experience in Technical Safety will be strongly considered.
- 5-10 years of working experience in planning, designing in the oil and gas industry.
- Possess a positive and willing-to-learn attitude.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
