About the Role
To serve as the Lead X-ray / Lab Technician, providing essential x-ray and laboratory functions, including key technical staffing support for the team. The Lead Technician will contribute experience and technical knowledge to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation.
- Perform numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpret results in a timely manner to assist physicians in treatment decisions.
- Perform all duties in x-ray to cover for the main technician when absent, adhering to all rules and regulations required for the position.
- Conduct medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- State of Arkansas x-ray license with preferred five years of experience in x-ray.
- Must meet criteria for Limited Licensed Technologist, Licensed Technologist, or Radiologic Technologist License, or be eligible to take the Limited Scope Examination.
- Must keep license current and attend any required continuing education.
- Lab experience to meet CLIA Moderate Complexity requirements, including:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens, ensuring:
- Skills for proper specimen collection, including patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation, processing, transportation, and storage.
- Skills for implementing all standard laboratory procedures.
- Skills for performing each test method and proper instrument use.
- Skills for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration procedures related to each test performed.
- Working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
- Skills to implement quality control policies and procedures of the laboratory.
- Awareness of factors influencing test results and skills to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through evaluation of quality control sample values prior to reporting.
- Ability to multitask, strong communication skills, and detail-oriented.
