Lead Tech -Ultrasound/Vascular
University Radiology is the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, we staff, manage, and provide preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical facilities. We also serve as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.
About the role
We have a Lead Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist opportunity available in our Teaneck, NJ Imaging office.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill all requirements listed under Staff Technologist.
- Act as liaison between radiologists and clinical staff.
- Assist the Scheduling Department in overseeing room schedules in the departments.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Ensure effective communication with vendors and service personnel.
- Responsible for patient safety, including prescreening for contraindications and aseptic injection.
- Keep up to date with established departmental policies and procedures, including informing the staff.
- Obtain ACR certification for modalities.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, completing all required documentation for continuous improvement of patient care.
- Assist with the maintenance of supplies and equipment; notify team members regarding equipment downtime.
- Proficient in all software systems, including image and report management or reproduction.
- Maintain technical competency through continued education.
- Work schedule may change, requiring evening or weekend shifts based on staffing, volume, and unexpected issues.
- Provide feedback to management and may be required to complete employee performance evaluations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Appropriate modality certification and current CPR.
- 5 years’ experience as a registered technologist.
- Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
