About the role

We are seeking a Lead Technician for our Production Class 7 Clean Room Facility in Goleta, California. This role involves the packaging of IR detectors for high-reliability space, military, and commercial applications. The selected candidate will work with critical dewars and subassemblies, supporting a variety of program processes as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering to troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and assist with new process developments and improvements.
  • Review work instruction requirements and recommend tools and equipment to engineering.
  • Make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
  • Perform professional work regularly across multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Monitor and provide training for new employees.
  • Wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety-related processes, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform hand painting, spray painting, and touch-up operations on production hardware and components.
  • Lead in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of technical/business support employees.
  • Demonstrate experience with leadership, team building, and training employees.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or operations.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience and/or customer service.
  • Experience using general lab equipment like scopes, tooling, and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screwdrivers, etc.).
  • Experience working with ESD-sensitive parts.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a technical field around ESD-sensitive parts.
  • Experience with FOD and FOD reduction methods.
  • Experience in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other entry-level Manufacturing/Operations employees.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $66,000 – $125,400 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
