About the role
The Pre-K Lead Teacher plans and implements all classroom operations to uphold Celebree’s mission, vision, and values while providing a developmentally appropriate, safe, and engaging learning environment following the curriculum of the school. The Lead Teacher mentors the assistant teacher, partners closely with families, and ensures full compliance with Texas licensing standards and Celebree policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Weekly lesson planning to incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, gross and fine motor skills, as well as fine arts.
- Create a warm, caring, and engaging environment.
- Effective classroom management to maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, behavioral insights, and developmental milestones through regular updates.
- Support children with special education needs by applying early intervention techniques and individualized approaches to promote their success.
- Attend all team meetings, trainings, and school events as requested (e.g., open houses, family nights, tours); limit unscheduled absences.
- Conduct assessments aligned to Celebree standards, TRS, and CLI to monitor testing standards and children’s progress.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, toddler care, childcare best practices, and early childhood education trends.
- Greet parents by name, address concerns promptly, give positive feedback, and provide regular updates on each child’s development and classroom happenings (e.g., daily reports, conferences, digital communication).
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten children in a licensed childcare or private school setting with similar programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for early learners across various domains such as literacy, math, and physical education.
- Experience managing diverse classrooms with effective behavior management strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
