Lead PreK Teacher
About the role
The Goddard School of Wadsworth is searching for a Lead Pre-K Teacher who sees big potential in little learners. In this role, you’ll design a classroom where curiosity leads the way by blending play, exploration, and purposeful instruction to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. From building early literacy and math skills to guiding friendships and problem-solving, you’ll help children grow in confidence and independence every day. You will lead your classroom team with positivity and intention, partner with families, and create a welcoming space where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum that supports cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Establish and maintain consistent daily routines and positive behavior expectations
- Observe, assess, and document children’s development and progress
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress, needs, and milestones
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-prepared classroom environment
- Support children in developing independence, self-help, and social skills
- Address behavioral challenges using positive guidance techniques

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- At least 2 years of experience working with children ages 3-6
- Valid California Child Development Permit (CDP)
- Experience with Montessori or Reggio Emilia approaches to education is a plus
