Lead Teacher - 5070

Responsibilities

• Follow all OSHA requirements
• Aid in the development of program goals and early childhood activities under the Director of Children’s Services
• Prepare lesson plans in compliance with ACD regulations
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment for children
• Implement various early childhood educational, recreational, and social activities
• Foster development and growth in children
• Engage children in team building activities
• Assist with dressing, toileting, and ensuring sanitary conditions for children
• Provide classroom management
• Attend regular staff meetings
• Participate in training sessions and workshops on early childhood education
• Meet monthly with program coordinator and/or program director for supervision
• Act as a liaison with parents
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education or early childhood education
• At least four years of experience working within an early childhood education setting preferred
• Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are a plus
• First Aid, CPR, and Responding to Emergency (RTE) certification, or obtain within 3-6 months
• Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential
• Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills are necessary
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required

Pysical Requirements

• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Good writing skills
• Ability to work with infants and preschool children from ages of 0-5 years
• Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
• Ability to climb five flights of stairs
• Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents
• Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent countries via public transportation
• Ability to travel for minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time in all types of weather, including inclement weather
