Lead - Systems, Waveforms (Wireless Communications)

Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver novel products and capabilities.
- Hands-on System Engineering and verification work, often leading other engineers in execution of systems analysis, integration and test activities.
- Manage the Waveform System Team (WST) within the Waveforms Group. The WST is responsible for the system and verification engineering work (including requirements management, integration and test, and verification) with a focus on waveform functionality and performance.
- Ensure the WST staff members have the training and infrastructure to provide System Engineering services and execute accurate and efficient verification of TrellisWare waveforms.
Requirements
- Typically has a BS degree or higher from an accredited university.
- 5~10 years’ experience in system engineering, test planning and execution.
- Experience in managing direct reports.

- Subject matter expert in their field and looked to for technical decision making, brainstorming, troubleshooting and innovative problem solving.
- Experience leading development projects for products in the field of wireless communications.
- Ability to define project scope definition and communicate the scope clearly through system/sub-system and requirements definition.
- Ability to lead development of novel capability by managing a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to ensure new capability is systematically verified.
- Strong knowledge in the following concepts:
- Systems Engineering best practices
- Systems integration testing of wireless radios
- Understanding of physical layer components such as error-correcting codes, modulation, power amplifiers, filters etc.
- Understanding of physical layer testing procedures such as testing for RF blockers, IP3, power spectral densities, packet error rate measurements, sensitivity measurements.
- Understanding of fundamental MAC protocols such as TDMA, CSMA etc.
- Understanding of User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) networking
- Test automation
- REST API programming, SQL programming and scripting.
- Strong working knowledge of programming (C, Python, Shell).
- Management approach that promotes employee growth and collaboration
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear.
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay
$115,000 - $185,000 USD annually for individuals located in the San Diego, CA area.
