Lead Systems Integration Engineer
Responsibilities
- Perform testing in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present
- Execute procedures that verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NAS
- Cookordination activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
- Debug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issues
- Able to understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkouts
- Work with team lead to provide guidance to fellow test team members and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestones
- Develop innovative and automated solutions that streamline repetitive tasks and significantly improve operational efficiency
- Learn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements
- Collaborate with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirements
- Conduct Testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer when required
- Perform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizations
- Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
- Understand XML data and ability to troubleshoot connection issues with network configurations, IP addresses, JMS queue configurations, etc.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate testing, automation of scripts, and test creation
- Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs
- Analyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software in regard to developing solutions
- Develop innovative and automated solutions that streamline repetitive tasks and significantly improve operational efficiency
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate formal test events
- Knowledge of interfacing systems in the NAS such as FDIO, STARS, TBFM, ASDE-X
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6+ years of professional experience; or 4+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
- Strong Experience with UNIX/Linux operating, troubleshoot connection /network configurations skills
- Expertise in scripting (Python, shell scripting) for data processing, analysis, and system integration
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems (Claude-Code), automation, or intelligent platforms
- Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
- Willing to collaborate with FAA customer on sites to build system knowledge
Desired Skills
- Advanced integration skills and the ability to work independently
- A good academic understanding and/or exposure to system engineering practices to contribute to and/or assist with system integration, requirements engineering, operational and decision analysis, systems definition, requirements baseline control and management
- FAA Air Traffic Domain Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate formal test events
- Knowledge of interfacing systems in the NAS such as FDIO, STARS, TBFM, ASDE-X
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
