  • Apply knowledge of up-to-date construction methodologies and building codes.
  • Demonstrate experience in construction means and methods, especially in technology applications across varying project sizes and complexities.
  • Support design-build project pursuits, including scope development, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction and Design to establish budgets and conduct design/preconstruction meetings.
  • Analyze alternative design options with Preconstruction.
  • Coordinate closely with architectural, MEP, refrigeration, and process engineering disciplines to develop integrated building solutions.
  • Collaborate with construction, estimating, and engineering teams to ensure practical, buildable, and budget-aligned designs.
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and technical practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant structural engineering design experience.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage, freezer/cooler, controlled environment, or industrial manufacturing facility projects is desirable.
  • Experience in Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build best practices.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.) license in Georgia, with capability for reciprocity in other states.

Skills

  • Strong BIM proficiency (Revit-based workflow required).

  • Knowledge of construction document production and CSI specifications.
  • Understanding of industrial and/or Food & Beverage facility requirements preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM Collaborate Pro/BIM360, Navisworks, RAM Steel, and SpecLink.

  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Customer-focused with conflict resolution abilities.
  • Innovative and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Openness to supervision and constructive criticism.
  • Commitment to professional development.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Periodic construction site visits to gather project data.
