Overview

The Lead Storeroom Attendant assist and leads in the physical material handling of inventory materials, adhering to standard operating processes, and management of storeroom area, while leading other Storeroom Attendants when Materials Management Supervisor/Manager is absent.

Responsibilities

  • Physical receiving, inspection and put away of goods from vendors, directs delivery to other receiving points and either unloads individually or arranges for unloading by others when necessary.
  • Removal, inspection, and issue of goods to operations and warehouse customers.
  • Responsible for kitting parts required of planned jobs.
  • Responsible to execute required preventive care tasks supporting reliability of stored items.
  • System entry of goods receipts from purchase orders as required.
  • Physical inventories including cycle counting as directed.
  • Processing returns for purchase orders.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry.
  • Responsible for upkeep and general housekeeping of all warehouse storage locations, including, cleaning, labeling, and physical reorganization as needed.
  • Assists in the identification and correction of material specifications to eliminate duplicate records and ensure data consistency.
  • Any additional duties not specified above to accomplish the aforementioned tasks, as designated.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a storeroom setting.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Skills & Abilities

  • Effective communication with others is required. Read, write and speak effectively.
  • Good penmanship and knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Ability to deal with people and get along well with them.
  • Computer literate and proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Have mechanical aptitude.
  • Be familiar with nomenclature and specifications of nuts, bolts, pipe fittings, and a wide variety of general and special parts.
  • Strong SAP Materials Management/Inventory Management reporting. Ability to perform GR, GI, Cycle Count, Adjustments, Adhoc reporting.
  • Ability to run MRP functions in SAP when asked during periods of coverage.
  • Liaison between vendors and warehouse staff for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
  • Must have the physical ability to lift up to 50lbs. effectively if needed; Must have ability to stand, bend, climb, reach, lift, and walk through work area.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Dependable team player.
  • Acts as lead to Materials Management Supervisor/Manager in absence.
