Lead Storage Specialist
About the role
The Storage Lead oversees all vehicle movement to and from off-site storage locations. This role ensures efficient coordination with the Check-In Manager, maintains accurate tracking of vehicle inventory, and leads a team responsible for safely transporting vehicles between storage sites and the main lot.
Responsibilities
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Vehicle Coordination:
- Coordinate daily with the Check-In Manager to identify vehicles scheduled for off-site storage or return to the main lot.
- Prioritize vehicle movement based on operational needs, deadlines, and space availability.
- Ensure all vehicles are driven safely and handled according to company procedures.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise a team of four employees responsible for driving and relocating vehicles.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to maintain high productivity and safety.
- Support onboarding and training for new team members.
- Operational Oversight:
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicles sent to and retrieved from storage locations.
- Monitor vehicle condition during transfers and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper driving practices and site procedures.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between storage operations and the Check-In team.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, or issues to management in a timely manner.
- Work closely with other departments to support overall lot organization and workflow.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving and maneuvering a variety of vehicle types.
Qualifications
- Experience in logistics or related field preferred.
- Experience with vehicle handling and storage systems.
- Experience in supervising teams and providing performance feedback.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
