Lead - Sterile Certified Pharmacy Technician

About the role

The Sterile Certified Pharmacy Technician Lead at Southend Pharmacy is a key member of the sterile compounding department. This role involves leading and supporting daily sterile compounding operations, training and mentoring technicians, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily sterile compounding operations
• Perform and oversee sterile compounding in ISO 5/7/8 environments
• Maintain compliance with USP , USP , cGMP, and state regulations
• Partner with pharmacist leadership to ensure workflow efficiency and quality
• Aid in inventory oversight and supply readiness

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
• Sterile Compounding experience required
• Minimum 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience, including experience in sterile environments
• Demonstrated leadership experience or informal lead responsibilities within a pharmacy setting
• Strong working knowledge of USP and standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented in a fast-paced, regulated environment

Qualifications

• Preferred: National certification (CPhT)
• Prior experience in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy
• Experience serving as a technician lead, trainer, or senior technician
• Familiarity with pharmacy systems and sterile workflow optimization

Working Days & Hours

• First Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Monday–Friday)
• Second Shift: 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Monday–Friday)
