About the Role

The School Aged Child Care Lead Staff position at the Kids Club (Boys & Girls Club of Worcester) is a part-time, year-round role focused on planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for youth ages 5 to 13. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a motivated individual interested in youth development.

Schedule

Part-time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM. Excludes school vacation weeks and summer break.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs for children ages 5–13.
  • Comply with EEC (Department of Early Education and Care) regulations.
  • Oversee special programs and/or events as needed.
  • Participate in other Clubhouse activities.
  • Consult with parents regarding member and Clubhouse issues.
  • Perform light cleaning and other assigned duties.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds and remain physically active for up to 3 hours at a time.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old (per EEC regulations).
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • A bachelor’s or associate degree with three months of experience working with school-age children; or
    • A high school diploma or equivalent with six months of experience, including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program; or
    • Nine months of experience with school-age children, including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program.
  • Confidence in providing academic support and navigating remote learning tools.
  • Strong computer, communication (informing, listening, writing), and group leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a CORI check, national background check, and fingerprinting per EEC regulations.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Worcester serves over 500 kids daily, ages 5–18, across three locations. As a local nonprofit affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we focus on the unique needs of Worcester’s youth, providing an enriched environment that supports their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Our mission is to guide youth toward fulfilling futures while making a positive impact in the community.

The Club observes thirteen holidays annually, with closures on the nearest Friday or Monday if a holiday falls on a weekend.
