About the Opportunity

The Senior Network Engineer role is critical to maintaining and advancing the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. This position ensures secure, resilient, and scalable network services across various facilities and cloud environments, directly supporting business and operational needs. The role involves collaboration with multiple internal teams to deliver reliable, high-availability network solutions that underpin the company’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient enterprise network infrastructure
  • Support campus, WAN, wireless, VPN, and data center networks
  • Develop network segmentation, VLAN architectures, routing, switching, firewall policies, and secure remote access
  • Evaluate and implement new networking technologies and architectural improvements
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery for network infrastructure
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Manage enterprise firewall platforms, VPN connectivity, network access controls, and NAC
  • Monitor network performance and security using enterprise monitoring tools
  • Investigate and resolve complex network issues
  • Implement security best practices including Zero Trust principles and IDS/IPS
  • Support vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening
  • Manage networking for VMware-based data centers and hybrid cloud environments
  • Design and maintain connectivity between on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure and AWS)
  • Support DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and other network services
  • Affiliate with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, Manufacturing Engineering, and vendors
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, technology evaluations, and cross-functional projects
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures
  • Mentor junior IT staff and promote networking best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise network infrastructure design, implementation, and support
  • Proficient with enterprise routing and switching technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Cisco networking platforms including FortiGate firewalls and Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure
  • Skilled in designing secure networks using VLANs, routing protocols, VPNs, firewall policies, and segmentation
  • Familiarity with VMware networking and virtual infrastructure
  • Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity principles and Zero Trust networking
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and project management skills
  • Preferred experience supporting manufacturing, Operational Technology, or industrial environments
  • Preferred familiarity with industrial networking technologies (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, DNP3)
  • Preferred understanding of OT cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82)
  • Preferred experience with SCADA systems, industrial automation, or control networks
  • Preferred experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, FortiAnalyzer, or FortiAuthenticator
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, Fortinet NSE/FCP/FCSS, CISSP, or GICSP preferred

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Salary range from $135,000 to $160,000 USD depending on location, qualifications, and experience
