Position Description
This role involves leading software development efforts, performing code reviews, developing system-level designs that integrate COTS/GOTS systems, and driving process improvements in Agile and DevSecOps practices.
Position Responsibilities
- Mentoring and leading junior and mid-level engineers to build proofs of concept for one-of-a-kind capabilities.
- Performing peer testing and code review.
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues.
- Contributing to all levels of the architecture.
- Maintaining key system technical documentation.
- Developing a familiarity with new tools and best practices.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and further implementation of best practices in software development, unit testing, agile scrum, and DevSecOps.
- Collaborating with your team to author technical reports and demonstrate capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with 5 years of experience or Masters (MS/MA) in a related field with 3 years of experience
- Active Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from start date.
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, or other C-style, cross-platform programming languages
- Experience developing software for and configuring Linux and/or Unix systems
- Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and debugging software
- Ability to develop and document system-level design options, including integration with commercial and government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) systems and software
- Experience with version control, issue tracking, and documentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Adaptability and initiative to perform a wide variety of tasks to achieve program success
Desired Qualifications
- Active Security+ Certification
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Linux development experience at both user and kernel levels
- Experience modifying and compiling large open-source codebases
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
- Experience with dnf package management using local repositories
