Lead Software Engineer/Software Engineer - Data Experience (DevOps/DataOps)
About the role
We're looking for Software Engineers to join a team focused on transforming the Property and Casualty (P&C) analytic user experience from fragmented to a seamless self-service workflow. This role will enable users to discover P&C data instantly, understand context intuitively, and generate trusted insights independently—empowering P&C analytic users through a truly seamless experience.
The team delivers technical solutions including emerging technologies such as AI/ML to enhance how we deliver the best experiences to consumers of P&C data assets and tools. You will work in a collaborative environment to design, develop, test, and support data and software solutions that align with our objectives.
Hybrid work arrangement: Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations) should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office. Enterprise Technology roles require residing within a 180-mile radius of the hubs.
Hub locations: Dunwoody, GA; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; or Bloomington, IL.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support data and software solutions that align with team objectives.
- Work in a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality capabilities using emerging technologies such as AI/ML.
- Understand how technology solutions meet data, engineering, and analytic consumer experience outcomes.
- Participate in sprint planning, provide work estimates, and own development stories.
- Exhibit a DevOps and DataOps mindset, ensuring data aligns with team needs and leveraging automation to deliver quality solutions.
- Complete required coding to satisfy acceptance criteria and deliver desired outcomes.
- Lead in solution design, considering risks, mitigations, performance, user experience, and testability.
- Participate in the full software development cycle, including coding, testing, implementation, support, and sunset.
- Design, develop, test, and support software in support of capability objectives.
- Apply emerging technology solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Exhibit accountability for the product from inception to sunset.
- Share knowledge with others to build a well-rounded team.
- Use critical thinking to challenge current approaches and apply the right technology to solve problems.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, React, Java).
- Experience with AWS services such as RDS, S3, Lambda.
- Experience with testing, including unit testing and integration testing.
- Strong experience with observability, defect analysis, and resolution.
- Experience building automated test suites (including code quality frameworks), integrating into CI/CD pipelines, and working with containers and infrastructure/platform capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of system workflow design and architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
- DevOps mindset with accountability for the product from inception to sunset.
- Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with others.
- Critical thinking skills to challenge current thinking and apply the right technology to solve problems.
Pay
Compensation is based on a standard 38:45-hour work week.
- Potential starting salary range: $85,500 - $150,000 (starting salary based on skills, background, and experience; high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience).
- Potential yearly incentive pay: Up to 15% of base salary.
