Lead Software Engineer, API Integrations

How You’ll Succeed
- Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities.
- Understand the Commercial Banking business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap.
- Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations.
- Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives.
- Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices, and pushing forward continuous improvements.
- Act as the solution lead and interface with project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to ensure the overall design aligns with business requirements and architectural directions.
- Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective problem solving.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will be a technically strong, delivery-focused engineer who can operate across front end, backend, API integrations, security, and cloud infrastructure. They should be comfortable working in complex banking enterprise ecosystems, translating requirements into scalable technical solutions, and supporting platforms with significant compliance, audit, and operational rigor.
You can demonstrate 7-10+ years’ experience in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following:
- Programming Skills: .Net Framework & .Net Core: Experienced in developing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise-grade web applications using Microsoft .Net technologies. Expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API & JSON, Entity Framework, with React for front-end development. Adept at integrating backend logic with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX).
- Languages: C#, VB.Net, SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, NodeJS.
- Frameworks: .NET Framework (2.0 – 4.7), ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC, Web API), Entity Framework, LINQ.
- Databases: SQL MI, SQL Server.
- ETL & CI/CD Tools: SSIS, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
- Security: ASP.NET Core Identity / Entra ID / OAuth/OpenID/allAccess integrations.
- Cloud Technologies: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and understanding of cloud-native design, resiliency, and secure deployment patterns. Experience with: Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor / Application Insights, Entra ID / Azure AD.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fenergo CLM (Client Lifecycle Management) or similar client lifecycle / onboarding, KYC (Know Your Customer) / AML platforms.
- Design/architecture consulting and hands-on implementation experience on Fen-X SaaS platform with Salesforce CRM, other CIBC internal custom, and third-party applications.
- Familiarity with master data management and customer/entity hierarchy solutions.
- Experience designing systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-environment promotion.

Pay
This role has an expected salary range of $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
Schedule
Hybrid, 2 days in office, 3 days remote. Weekly hours: 40.
