Responsibilities
- Perform all duties essential to setting up units, including anchoring, blocking and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, building links, decks, skirting, layout, and footing work.
- Perform all duties essential to the knockdown of buildings, including building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting all utility and mate-line crossovers, securing all items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
- Perform service work for customer units on the road, such as skirting, electrical work, and plumbing work.
- Perform customer modifications as assigned by the branch manager.
- Complete daily paperwork, including customer-signed lease agreements, inspection sheets, set-up advice, and driver logs. Submit all paperwork to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain safe operation of trucks on a daily basis, including pre-trip and DOT inspections prior to departure.
- Coordinate with the service manager to schedule all service and preventative maintenance on trucks.
- Maintain the proper working condition of all tools and equipment used.
- Fully comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Direct the work of Set-Up Technicians and Set-Up Workers (without direct supervisory responsibility for more than one employee).
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Good communication skills and ability to deal with customers, salespeople, and other contractors.
- Current, valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum of 7 years of set-up and knockdown experience required.
- Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades are a must.
- Previous management experience or experience working with other trades is a plus.
- Ability to direct others is required.
