Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Service Manager on day-to-day management and long-range stewardship of the company’s equipment.
  • Test, repair, and troubleshoot equipment by traveling to customer locations, including installation and onsite services for individuals and organizations.
  • Provide telephone support for troubleshooting and confirm equipment functionality after repairs.
  • Ensure all service and maintenance activities are planned and executed under the Permit-to-Work System when required.
  • Participate in and lead the Safety Observation Card (SOC) program, reporting and closing out safety issues.
  • Lead Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for service and maintenance operations, ensuring communication of requirements to all participants.
  • Ensure the Service Truck is properly loaded with tools and inventory to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate service activities with clients to optimize operations and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels, coordinate parts receiving/issuing, and manage material control.
  • Maintain housekeeping in shop and office areas.
  • Document comprehensive handover notes and ensure communication between maintenance disciplines.
  • Report equipment damage to the Service Manager, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Stay updated on operational/technical bulletins and maintain requisite documents.
  • Attend pre-tour, pre-job, weekly safety meetings, and other client/third-party safety meetings as required.
  • Enforce proper use of PPE within the work area.
  • Schedule inspections, certifications, and upkeep for equipment such as rigging/lifting gear, overhead cranes, radios, environmental equipment, emergency/firefighting equipment, and forklifts.
  • Ensure all certification and training requirements are met per the company training matrix.
  • Assist with shop activities and ongoing operations and repairs (O & R) when not in the field.
  • Represent the company professionally, maintaining confidentiality of company and client business.
  • Fulfill all other requirements as directed by company policy and the Area Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2.5 years of experience in a technical or field services role.
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).
  • Previous experience as a Field Service Technician.

Desired Characteristics

  • At least 5 years of experience in a service or maintenance capacity.
  • Enthusiasm for building a new company with cultural diversity.
  • Relevant trade certificate and/or 2–5 years of maintenance/service background in a similar capacity with a strong safety record.
