Lead Server

About the role

The Lead Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Phoenix Senior Living standards. This includes proper dining set-up, meal and dining services, and cleaning of the dining rooms while handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards. The Lead Server also ensures everything runs smoothly in the dining hall and reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of daily and Always Available Menu items and can provide general descriptions to residents and guests.
• Assists residents with menu selections and responds to questions about menu items.
• Takes meal and beverage orders and serves requested items according to established guidelines.
• Responds to the dining needs of residents and guests while maintaining Phoenix hospitality and service standards.
• Attends pre-meal briefings to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities.
• Follows local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling and maintains cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Performs janitorial duties, including following daily and weekly cleaning schedules and maintaining communication with the Food and Beverage Director.
• Partners with department directors to ensure community compliance with OSHA requirements and risk management policies.
• Practices safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness and follows safety procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, SDS (Safety Data Sheets), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
• Assists in organizing the dining room and surrounding areas for proper flow, organization, and supplies placement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living preferred.

• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours, available during peak service times.

Schedule

Must be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and other times as needed.
