Lead Server

About the role

The Lead Server reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director and is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Phoenix Senior Living standards. This role ensures proper dining set-up, meal and dining services, and cleaning of the dining rooms while handling all foods in compliance with sanitary procedures and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide general dining service duties, including knowledge of daily and Always Available Menu items and assisting residents with menu selections.
• Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines while maintaining Phoenix hospitality and service standards.
• Attend pre-meal briefings to stay informed about meal details and support activities.
• Follow local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Perform janitorial duties, including adhering to daily and weekly cleaning schedules and maintaining communication with the Food and Beverage Director.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, risk management policies, and safety procedures, including safe food handling, PPE usage, and emergency protocols.
• Assist in maintaining proper dining room flow, organization, and supply placement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living preferred.
• Understanding of infection control procedures.
• Ability to multitask, manage stress, and demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
• Embraces the assisted living philosophy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Schedule

Must be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours to meet peak service delivery times.
