About the role
We are seeking a Lead Dining Room Server to manage the entire dining experience for our senior residents, ensuring meals are presented attractively and that both new and returning residents feel welcome.
Responsibilities
- Meal Service
- Attend pre-meal meetings to review menu items.
- Serve a designated section of the dining room and assist with seating residents.
- Greet residents immediately upon seating and help integrate new residents into the dining experience.
- Note and report to the Supervisor any residents from your section who missed a meal (if POS system is not used).
- Maintain accurate records of meals served to residents and guests in your section and submit to the Supervisor or enter into the POS system if applicable.
- Report any unusual occurrences or changes in resident behavior or eating habits in your section to the Supervisor.
- Serve meals using proper techniques and ensure food is presented attractively.
- Assist with restocking condiments, filling salt and pepper shakers, folding napkins, and other dining room duties as assigned.
- Dining Room Cleaning
- Clean, organize, and maintain all service areas in your assigned section.
- Ensure tables, chairs, and carpet in your section are cleaned after each meal and prepared for the next meal in a timely manner.
- Assist with other cleaning duties as assigned.
- Lead Shift
- Train dining room personnel and, in the absence of the Dining Room Supervisor, assist in directing staff.
- Monitor team member schedules and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient meal service.
- Ensure all dining room personnel maintain a strong customer service focus and professional conduct and appearance.
- Support operating the dining room within budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and local/state regulatory agency guidelines and ensure compliance.
- Serve as a member of the department’s leadership team, providing feedback on daily operations and team performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of food service experience, including at least 1 year of dining room management.
- Previous experience in both restaurant and senior living settings preferred.
- Strong commitment to customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, team members, and vendors.
- Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Must meet all health-related and/or food handling requirements per local or state regulatory agencies.
- Must maintain current CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers credentials, as well as annual Continuing Education Credits.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing, and criminal background check.

Pay
$20.00–$22.00/hour
