Lead Semiconductor Application Technologist
About the Role
A leading global expert in key markets & applications, this position is responsible for translating technical expertise into business results. It demonstrates expertise in target markets and applications through various customer-facing channels, identifies training needs, and develops global technical acumen. The role involves training both inside and outside the organization, consulting on product and solution development, supporting key projects, and collaborating to strengthen Swagelok’s position as a technical resource and solutions provider.
Responsibilities
- Promote and enhance Swagelok’s image and reputation as a fluid system expert.
- Serve in leadership positions on influential industry and standards organization committees.
- Partner with marketing communications to develop and represent industry-facing content.
- Identify new opportunities through technical knowledge of customer applications.
- Consult on the development of new products, services, and training.
- Research and develop application expertise across general industrial markets and future target markets.
- Identify gaps in Swagelok’s applications expertise and develop strategies to increase global technical acumen.
- Guide the development of specifications and requirements for new/existing Engineering Services offerings.
- Develop and deliver training in target applications and markets.
- Direct resources towards initiatives and ensure the team has appropriate skills.
- Continuously develop self through training, education, and benchmarking opportunities.
- Develop the technical capabilities and leadership competencies of the Engineering Services group.
- Consult and collaborate across the Swagelok commercial organization on customer opportunities.
- Advise on the direction of Swagelok’s engineering services offering.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Experience:
- Ten (10) years of experience in advanced techniques and modification of theories, precepts, and practices in sciences and technical disciplines.
- Five (5) years of industry-acknowledged expertise in multiple fluid delivery or fluid measurement topics.
- Five (5) years of experience working with semiconductor, OEM, or FAB customers.
Skills
- Expertise in industry-relevant fluid system processes, equipment, or components (semiconductor, oil, gas, chemical, clean energy).
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with distributors and customers.
- Proven leadership abilities, including evaluating, encouraging, motivating, and disciplining.
- Ability to interpret customer applications and develop P&ID and fluid schematics.
- Problem-solving skills for complex issues and multiple projects.
