Lead Security Technician

TEKsystems has an immediate position available for a Security/Fire Alarm Technician to join one of our client's teams in Roselle, NJ. The company is nationally ranked in the top 30 by Security Distributing & Marketing Magazine (SDM) and is seeking skilled technicians with experience in installing, servicing, and inspecting security and fire systems.

About the role

As a Security Alarm Technician/Installer, you will install, service, maintain, and test security and fire alarm systems for commercial accounts. You will work both independently and as part of a team, participating in an on-call rotation. Experience with access control, video, and fire alarm systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and inspect security and fire alarm systems
• Maintain and test systems to ensure proper functionality
• Work with hand tools and power tools
• Read and interpret schematics for system installations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in security system design
• Participate in on-call rotation

Requirements

• Experience in installing and servicing fire alarm systems
• Proficiency in using power tools for installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of CCTV systems and security alarm technology
• Familiarity with low voltage electrical systems and cabling techniques
• Ability to read and interpret schematics
• Experience with access control, video, and computer networking is a plus
• Must be able to work with hand tools and pass a drug test
• Company vehicle and cell phone provided for transportation to job sites

Pay

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite, contract-to-hire position based in Plainview, NY. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation.
