Lead Security Technician

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Runs project crews and assumes responsibility for effective performance.
  • Provides necessary training and holds weekly safety meetings.
  • Assumes responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines.
  • Initiates performance-related communications and escalates to Security Systems Project Manager if necessary.
  • Covers productivity, job completion, and compliance with project budget.
  • Fully completes all IES COMMERCIAL and project paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Serves as the main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns.
  • Attends facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Completes work demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge of card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems.
  • Trains and leads teams up to 10 technicians.
  • Reads, comprehends, and understands Security, Architectural, and construction drawings.

  • Able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Maintains regular attendance.

Tools

  • Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver - all sizes (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight and gloves.
  • Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.

Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in security systems installation.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Proficient with the listed tools.
  • Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Meets Company minimum driving standards.
