About the role
The Security Lead Officer will work closely with and take direction from a Security Supervisor and/or the Security Manager.
Responsibilities
- Learn every Security Officer position on the Track side of the property and cover those positions as needed.
- Learn Morning Horse Training policies and procedures, Equine Euthanasia procedures, Human Injuries procedures (including both on and off track), Team Member injury procedures, and others as assigned.
- Assist in new Officer training.
- Monitor all Officers on their shift and report any concerns to their supervisor.
- Enforce the rules and regulations of Horseshoe Indianapolis and the IHRC, reporting all violations to their Supervisor immediately.
- Monitor all radio traffic and respond to and take calls as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Motor Vehicle License with a good driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years or older for Backside; 21 years or older for Frontside.
- Capable of obtaining CPR/AED/First Aid certification and Indiana Horse Racing Commission licensure.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in noisy, smoke-filled, close-quarters environments, and in hot or cold excessive weather conditions, depending on the work area.
