Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforce company security regulations including but not limited to: Challenging guest interactions, appropriately handling active threats, assisting with evacuation procedures, protecting the transfer of money, chips and company assets, providing a safe environment, giving directions and escorting guests and employees, representing the company and its property to ensure all casino regulations are upheld at all times, patrolling all sections of the casino and property, making and conducting chip fills, marker transfers and sensitivity key escorts, providing first aid including CPR when necessary, conducting interviews, investigating and documenting all applicable incidents, writing reports as needed, acting as a role model always presenting oneself as a credit to Harrah’s Gulf Coast.
  • Maintains attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Enforces Project 21 policy and procedures by monitoring area for underage gamblers.
  • Suggests players in Caesars Rewards, Caesars Rewards App, Play by CR, and Caesars Rewards Visa.
  • Suggests products, services and experiences to guests.
  • Responds calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
  • Makes rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
  • Must be able to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.
  • Able to suggest Caesars Rewards Loyalty Program to guests.
  • Able to suggest products, services and experiences to guests.
  • Responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Security Department on assigned shift, in accordance with the company’s established policies, procedures and controls and the safety and wellbeing of guests and fellow employees.
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding security and takes action to resolve complaint.
  • Investigates various incidents that concern the welfare of the hotel/casino.
  • Reviews and approves all documents as needed.
  • Investigates issues pertaining to poor service and makes recommendations to improve service.
  • Maintains service standards for security staff.
  • Takes action to correct any deficiencies in standards.
  • Communicates service standards to security officers and also trains officers to perform to standards and also holds security officers accountable for achieving standards.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies as needed.
  • Instructs, trains, and monitors officers in numerous daily duties, including customer and employee relations, report-writing, procedures in handling company funds, crisis and crowd control.
  • Reviews and approves recorded time worked in accordance with schedules.
  • Assists with interviews for security staff.
  • Prepares employee schedules and necessary paperwork when necessary.
  • Assists with scheduling of shift.
  • Collaborates with Law Enforcement authorities and arranges for training classes as required.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with employees and other departments.
  • Provides assistance to all other departments as required.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Security Manager.
  • Maintains attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Able to acquire and maintain a Mississippi Gaming Permit issued by Mississippi Gaming Commission.
  • Able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous guest service and security experience are desirable.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Able to get along with co-workers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current property events, promotions and attractions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Able to work effectively in a team setting and independently.

  • Proficient in locating, reviewing and saving video coverage related to incidents.
  • Proficient in Security Dispatching.
  • Able to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah’s Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Able to accept direction of Senior Leadership.
  • Maintain CPR/First –aid certification.
  • Skills in investigation.
  • Proficient knowledge of gaming regulations and company internal controls.
  • Previous Security experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer and employee relations’ skills.
  • Able to obtain Alcohol Awareness, First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Able to work beyond assigned shift hours when needed, and attend training sessions and/or meetings at any time.
  • Able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Able to present a well-groomed appearance.
  • High school graduate or GED is required.
  • Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job.
  • Able to tolerate cigarette and cigar smoke.
  • Responds to visual and aural cues.
