Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs duties to monitor the activities of the staff and guests to ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and safety rules.
- Takes necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of operations.
- Utilizes various computer systems and programs to monitor and/or log the events that occur on shift.
- Act as the primary trainer for new Security Team Members and complete the necessary paperwork to document the training process.
- Maintain knowledge of Security Officer and Dispatcher job roles and tasks to be able to act in that capacity and train, as necessary.
- Acts as an Assistant Shift Manager when necessary and assigned.
- Appropriately assigns tasks based upon scheduling and what the task entails.
- Exercises good judgment to ensure the safety and security of the guests, staff, and assets within the limits of standard or accepted policies and procedures.
- This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members.
- Patrol, periodically, buildings and grounds of the facility, as directed; or stand watch, as directed, at an assigned security post, in order to oversee the comfort, safety and security of our guests.
- Coincides with Surveillance on monitoring critical areas.
- Maintains visible presence and takes action to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and organizational assets.
- Maintains guest access to and from gaming and non-gaming areas.
- Aid local law enforcement and the Illinois Gaming Agents as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma/GED; one to two years of work experience that demonstrates qualities of sound judgment and dependability or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of casino experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English with customers and employees.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
