LEAD SECURITY OFFICER

About the role

This position ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, hospital personnel, visitors, and property from various threats including negligent or malicious acts, safety hazards, and fires.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, hospital personnel, visitors, and property.
• Respond to emergencies effectively, demonstrating the ability to pass mandatory bi-annual physical fitness tests.
• Drive as part of routine job duties, if required.

Requirements

• Education: Combination of three years of education and/or experience in criminal justice, emergency management, or life safety.
• Experience: 12 months of management experience in security, emergency management, military, or related fields.
• Registration/Certification/Licensure: Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if driving is part of job duties.
• Currently holds a Maryland State Security Guard Card Certification or must complete 12 hours of Initial Security Guard Training, pass a background check, and be fingerprinted by the Maryland State Police.
• Successfully complete mandatory bi-annual physical fitness tests (PFT).

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Maryland State Security Guard Card Certification or successfully complete the required training.
• Must pass a background check by the Maryland State Police.
• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively respond to emergencies through successful completion of mandatory bi-annual physical fitness tests.
