Lead School Bus Mechanic
About the role
Monark Student Transportation is willing to train for those interested and willing to learn and grow with us. As Mechanic you will perform repair work and maintenance for buses.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes, and tune-ups
- Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
- Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function
- Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist
- Identify mechanical issues either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
- Test drive vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation
- Plan timetables to complete such repairs and maintenance
Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical repair skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read service and repair manuals
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, hydraulics, and software
- Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required
- Two plus years of related experience
- A commercial driver's license. Willing to train for C.D.L. - C.D.L. training is done in house at no extra cost to you!
- State inspection license / hydraulics
Qualifications
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and safety inspections. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
