About the Role

The Lead Sales Associate I serves as the principal selling agent for the company, responsible for achieving short and long-range sales objectives. This role focuses on maintaining existing customers in the assigned area, establishing future growth potential, and expanding gross profit for the team. The position requires coordination of sales activities and promotions with employees, administrators, customers, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customers and potential customers’ facilities to provide information and support, securing and maintaining business.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop business, social, and civic relationships with customers to maximize profitability.
  • Assist in evaluating territory performance against objectives (e.g., sales forecast, budget, new accounts, gross margin) and take action to improve performance.
  • Sell Wismettac products to all customers in the assigned territory.
  • Grow business by anticipating customer needs, determining solutions to business problems, and providing high-level customer service.
  • Understand and execute the sales plan and price adjustments based on management’s instructions.
  • Provide accurate forecasts of sales by customer and product on a timely basis.
  • Communicate plans to merchandisers and manage resources to support sales volume in the territory.
  • Recommend areas of future growth potential, such as acquisitions or new market strategies.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, information, or feedback to appropriate company staff.
  • Cooperate with the accounting department to ensure collection of accounts receivable.
  • Develop familiarity with new accounts and contacts within assigned territories.
  • Create and execute a plan for generating leads that result in new business.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory in cooperation with managers.
  • Develop a territory coverage plan defining the type of support and frequency of customer contact required to meet goals.
  • Cooperate with office and logistics staff to achieve territory sales goals.
  • Provide timely reporting of field activities to assist in business and product planning.
  • Submit sales activity reports and other required reports.
  • Attend quarterly inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
