Your Opportunity
Your opportunity is to join our fully remote team as a Lead Revenue Recognition Accountant. This role offers true flexibility and the chance to impact our financial reporting and growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Process: Manage the month-end close for revenue-related activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and transparency in financial reporting.
- Technical Consultation: Review customer contracts and non-standard terms to determine the correct revenue treatment, providing detailed accounting documentation.
- Financial Integrity: Prepare and reconcile essential revenue schedules, including deferred revenue and contract assets/liabilities, maintaining high standards of precision.
- Process Innovation: Streamline Order-to-Cash processes and support vital SOX audit controls, driving continuous improvement.
- Strategic Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert on special projects and ad-hoc requests, providing revenue accounting insights for senior management.
This Role Requires
- Solid Foundation: A strong background in accounting, likely gained through a combination of Big 4 audit/advisory and US public company experience.
- ASC 606 Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and the ASC 606 framework, specifically within a SOX-controlled environment.
- Operational Agility: The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while working independently in a remote setting.
- Clear Communication: A talent for explaining complex accounting conclusions to stakeholders across the business.
Bonus Points
- Industry Experience: Previous experience navigating SaaS or consumption-based revenue models.
- Technical Toolkit: Familiarity with NetSuite, Zuora, or Salesforce CPQ.
