Lead Revenue Accountant - Remote

Responsibilities

• Own key components of month-end close and GL account reconciliations
• Manage the new revenue accounting system RightRev, including opening/closing periods as part of the monthly close process
• Prepare and record journal entries related to revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled, and related accounts
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement trends to deliver actionable insights to management and support data-driven decision making
• Prepare monthly revenue analysis report for management
• Absorb and document contract reviews with customers, ensuring proper documentation under ASC 606 and setting up proper accounting treatment
• Own all order management tasks including order activation in SalesForce and managing revenue schedules in RightRev to drive accurate revenue recognition
• Proactively identify and mitigate revenue leakage related to overage invoicing
• Support and assist with implementation of new systems and processes related to usage-based billing and revenue recognition
• Drive adoption of automation tools, AI, ERP enhancements, and other process improvements related to new revenue systems

Requirements

• Required Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606)
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Workday, Salesforce)
• PREFERRED: Experience with revenue accounting systems (e.g., RightRev or similar)
• Proven ability to improve processes, systems, or operational efficiency
• Experience supporting audits and working cross-functionally both internally and externally to finance

• Want to learn or have experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606 guidelines
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage incoming deliverables
• Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team environment

Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, where permitted by law. For reference, the expected salary range for this position is generally positioned as follows based on candidate location: 79,300 – 113,300: Candidates living in the Boston, New York City–Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan area

This position is also eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.
