About the role
The Gordon Laboratory at Emory University is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist Lead to spearhead experimental studies at the intersection of cancer biology, immunology, and metabolism.
Responsibilities
- Experimental coordination
- Literature review
- Data analysis
- Development of new experimental workflows
- Preparation and presentation of oral and written reports
- Support of laboratory operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and two years of research experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Experience with cellular analysis methods such as flow cytometry, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, ELISA, western blotting, qPCR, or related techniques.
- Hands-on experience cloning, amplifying, or purifying nucleic acids (e.g. DNA, RNA).
- Comfort analyzing large-scale quantitative datasets.
- Prior research experience in cancer biology, immunology, or related areas.
- Mammalian tissue culture experience.
- Prior experience with cell-based functional assays (e.g., cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis, cytotoxicity, or related assays).
Qualifications
- Foundational training in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
- Comfort analyzing large-scale quantitative datasets.
- Mass spectrometry experience (small-molecule, metabolomic, or proteomic analysis).
