Lead Registered Veterinary Technician General Practice

About the role

Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists is seeking a talented, experienced Lead General Practice Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT to join our growing hybrid hospital team full time.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support veterinary assistants, technicians, and client service representatives.
• Aid in onboarding and training of new team members.
• Maintain staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and feedback.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive workplace culture.
• Serve as a resource for staff questions and problem-solving during daily operations.
• Aid in scheduling, staffing needs, and workflow optimization.
• Coordinate daily hospital workflow to maximize efficiency and patient care.
• Monitor appointment flow and assist in resolving operational challenges.
• Ensure exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment are properly stocked and maintained.
• Aid in inventory management, ordering, and supply control.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness and compliance with sanitation protocols.

Requirements

• 3-4 years emergency experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to think on your feet.

Qualifications

• Credential as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT).
• Positive attitude and excellent work ethic.

Skills

• Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and think quickly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

Compensation: $21 - $28 / hr based on skill set, experience, and licensure status.

Schedule

Potential Schedule: Full-time, variable, weekend rotation required.
