About the role

The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered care. The Lead RN serves as a resource to the clinical staff in the ambulatory setting, assisting the Nurse Manager / Office Manager by providing clinical oversight and direction that ensures the safety and quality of the care provided to patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of clinical staff.
  • Carefully coordinates and monitors orientation of new clinical associates to ensure they meet 90 day performance goals.
  • Oversees clinical staff to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed in the provision of patient care.
  • Maintains oversight of clinical staff to ensure completion of annual competencies for clinical staff.
  • Serves as a flow facilitator for clinical staff in the accurate and timely completion of patient care.
  • Utilizes resources such as telephone call monitoring, immunization accuracy audits, and EMR chart reviews to provide quantitative and qualitative feedback to clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Office Manager and Physician in Charge to facilitate the day-to-day clinical operations of the office.
  • Performs the essential job functions of the Registered Nurse job description.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Must have or be eligible for a Delaware nursing license.
  • Must be certified as a Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or hold an appropriate national certification recognized by the ANCC.
  • One to three years of job-related experience required.
  • Pediatric office nurse experience required.
  • Preferred: Phone triage experience.
  • BLS Certification with the American Heart Association.
  • Available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm.

Qualifications

The Lead RN must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. They should also be able to demonstrate leadership qualities, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to patient care and safety.

Skills

Strong clinical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment are essential. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and familiarity with pediatric care protocols are also required.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually.

Schedule

The Lead RN works Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm.
