About the role
The Lead Registered Dietitian (RD) will oversee nutrition care at a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Assessing and monitoring residents' nutritional status and developing care plans
- Evaluating residents' specific nutritional needs, including support for skin breakdown and weight management
- Coordinating procurement of nutrition supplies and oral supplements with vendors and departments
- Monitoring meal service to ensure adherence to diet modifications
- Educating residents, families, and staff on nutrition and diet modifications
- Reviewing and updating dietary care plans for quality assurance
- Collaborating weekly with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans
- Working with Speech-Language Pathologists for diets for residents with dysphagia
- Reviewing menus to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Updating diet orders and menus in software systems daily
- Supervising dietary staff to ensure high-quality resident care
- Conducting audits to maintain nutrition standards and regulatory compliance
- Communicating regularly with the healthcare team to deliver optimal care
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian credential
- Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of state and federal guidelines
- Proficiency with EMR and menu software
