Job Summary

The Lead Radiologic Technologist coordinates with the Supervisor Radiology and/or Manager Radiology to ensure adequate resources are available for timely and quality exams. They may assign personnel and adjust assignments based on exam volume. They play a key clinical support role to managers, supervisors, or directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functions as a shift lead or pivotal direct clinical support role for one or more modalities in Radiology.
  • Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective imaging.
  • Applies broad range of skills to ensure advanced exams are completed timely and meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Coordinates with the Supervisor Radiology and Manager Radiology to maintain adequate staffing model for shift.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

Technical Capabilities

  • People Management: Conducts performance reviews, delegates tasks, coaches subordinates, and involves them in decisions affecting them.
  • Patient Documentation: Demonstrates uppermost expertise in applying patient documentation in challenging situations, often taking a lead role, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Compliance: Demonstrates expert knowledge of rules and regulations, analyzes them, and represents the company at industry meetings.
  • Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge: Demonstrates uppermost expertise in applying anatomy and physiology knowledge, often taking a lead role, and contributing to best practices.

Position Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
