About the role

This role is a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist position within the RF/Radar team in Advanced Tech at Honeywell Aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Stakeholders and business leadership to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform and review the basic design & detailed engineering while guiding the engineering team in issuance of the engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare Functional Design Specifications.
  • Assist Engineers in identification of design changes and submission to clients for variation orders.
  • Prepare & compile material requisition lists and material specifications for procurement.
  • Initiate utilization of best engineering practices, training, tools and methodologies.
  • Perform and guide the engineering team in design or configuration of hardware & software.
  • Prepare the testing procedure and execute the testing of system for acceptance by clients.
  • Assist and supervise site installation and commissioning works.
  • Prepare and update the as-built documentation timely.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical/Electronic, Information Technology, Communication/Network) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Must have capability of leading a project team of engineers, often multi-disciplines and handling more than one project at one time.
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant experience in project execution and system engineering works preferably in the aerospace or defense industries.
  • Aerospace or Defense research experience is preferred.
  • Possess experiences and knowledge on fundamental RF, EW, antenna design, Aviation or Defense Datalink communications, phased arrays, Microwave, RF link budget, Radio, or Satellite.
  • Project Ownership & Execution: Lead project proposals, ensuring complete and accurate project setup; Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets; Monitor progress and proactively intervene to resolve risks or bottlenecks; Manage scope changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders; Project Operational & Financial Oversight: Track budgets and ensure work remains aligned to approved scope; Support accountability by ensuring contributors charge time appropriately; Monitor KPIs such as speed-to-delivery and project cycle time; Provide regular budget and status reports to clients; Ensure timely and accurate project closure and documentation.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Schedule and facilitate meetings between clients and research teams; capture meeting notes, decisions, and action items; Maintain alignment between project teams, stakeholders, and leadership; Identify opportunities for improved workflow and operational consistency.
  • Good leadership and planning skills.
  • We Value Master’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline, such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Excellent team and communication skills, (verbal and written), negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to take initiative and work with limited direction.
  • Able to command respect and delegate work to team.
  • Possess customer delight as central objective.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to analyze project data and report on performance metrics.
  • Experience managing vendor coordination and tracking invoices.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft and avionics integration.
  • Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software technical issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of wireless project requirements and industry standards.
  • Capacity to conceptualize and innovate new technologies, products, and processes that drive advancement.
  • Skil in balancing demand and capacity, when establishing organizational priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions amid complexity, combining systemic analysis with confident decisiveness.
  • High degree of creativity and independence in problem-solving and project execution.
