Lead Quality Engineer

Work Model

This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; or Dallas, TX. The company supports work-life balance through various wellbeing programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead test planning and strategy with hands-on experience in quality engineering.
• Develop and execute API automation, with experience in the Karate framework as an advantage.
• Understand Kafka environments, participate in technical discussions, and perform related testing.
• Run and execute test cases, including API testing.
• Design and review automated test scripts.
• Manage stakeholders and collaborate with various application teams.
• Publish testing status reports.
• Troubleshoot Kafka messages and events.

Requirements

• Able to describe end-to-end data flow in a Kafka environment.
• Hands-on experience in API automation; experience with the Karate framework is an advantage.
• Scripting knowledge and experience with code management (CI/CD pipeline).
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and message flows.
• Experience producing and validating messages across Kafka topics.
• Proficiency in API testing (REST/Postman) is required.
• Hands-on automation script design experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
