Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

About The Role

Arya is looking for a strategic and hands-on Lead QA Engineer to build and lead our quality function as we scale our AI-powered automation platform. This is not just about executing tests — it’s about defining the quality bar for the company.

What You’ll Do

• QA Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and own Arya’s QA vision, roadmap, and quality standards
  • Establish scalable QA processes, tooling, and release quality gates
  • Embed quality practices early in the SDLC (shift-left testing mindset)
  • Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to align on quality metrics and risk tolerance
  • Mentor and guide engineers on testing best practices
  • Hire and build the QA team as the company scales
• Automation & Technical Ownership
  • Architect and maintain robust automated testing frameworks (E2E, integration, API, regression)
  • Increase automation coverage across critical workflows
  • Design performance, load, and security testing strategies
  • Ensure data validation and integrity across complex workflows
• Quality Operations
  • Own the defect lifecycle and root-cause analysis processes
  • Define release readiness criteria and sign-off standards
  • Track and report quality metrics (test coverage, defect trends, release stability, etc.)
  • Proactively identify system risks and edge cases before production

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in QA / Software Testing
• 2+ years leading QA initiatives, projects, or teams
• Proven experience building QA processes in startup or high-growth environments
• Deep understanding of test strategy, automation architecture, and CI/CD integration
• Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar
• Experience testing APIs (REST, GraphQL) and validating data with SQL
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, or similar)
• Strong analytical thinking and systems mindset
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills

Bonus Experience

• Experience in healthcare technology
• Experience testing AI-driven or data-intensive platforms
• Experience implementing QA in regulated or compliance-heavy environments

What to Expect in the First 15–30–60 Days

• By Day 15: Audited our current QA processes, tooling, and gaps; reviewed core workflows and identified quality risks; aligned with Engineering and Product on quality priorities; proposed an initial QA roadmap
• By Day 30: Implemented measurable improvements to test coverage; introduced automation or improved an existing framework; defined release quality gates and regression standards; contributed QA insights at the product design stage
• By Day 60: Fully owned the QA function and release confidence; automation coverage has meaningfully increased; CI/CD quality checks are embedded into our pipeline; quality metrics are being tracked and reported consistently; seen as a quality leader and trusted partner across the company
