Lead Project/Program Manager
About the Role
Lead a project team to implement client HCM projects by planning, organizing, controlling, and deploying key milestones, deliverables, and resources according to client and business goals. Use specific templates and techniques to manage through the preferred project life cycle, ensuring business goals and objectives are accomplished within designated timeframes and budgets. Your primary goal is to successfully implement clients on HCM products and services, building rapport, establishing trust, and managing all project phases—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
Responsibilities
- Manage large project teams responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and implementation of projects to meet business goals and objectives within designated timeframes and budgets.
- Develop strong partnerships and working relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
- Identify cross-functional resources critical to project objectives and build diverse collaborative teams to drive business success.
- Lead and influence initiatives and projects, providing strategic insights for efficient execution of project deliverables and milestones, including managing the full life cycle of projects.
- Provide analysis and status reports of the project, including business case, ROI, and post-project review.
- Assess, manage, resolve, and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues.
- Champion best practices and process improvement to create an exceptional client implementation experience.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to approach new situations.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of project management experience and/or continuous improvement experience.
- Prior work experience leading medium to large cross-functional and/or multi-year projects from concept to delivery.
- Strong knowledge of project management processes, tools, and structured methodologies.
- Ability to guide and inspire others in a consultative approach, driving collaboration and client focus within the project team and internal partners.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with flexibility and adaptability.
- Demonstrated learning agility, critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply basic concepts in new situations.
- Ability to work and thrive independently and in a collaborative, matrixed team environment.
- Experience coaching, training, and mentoring other team members with less experience.
A college degree is not required if you have the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences include the above requirements or military experience.

- Industry expertise applied to client solutions through in-depth consultation and best practices.

- Process-oriented with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and experience with tools like Financial Force, Anaplan, or Confluence.
- Experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM) industry and/or knowledge of payroll.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PHR, SPHR, CCP, CBP, HCS, or similar from highly recognized professional learning institutions.
