Lead Project Engineer- Industrial Division
Responsibilities
- Cost/Revenue Review phase codes in project software following budget setup by the estimating team.
- Develop and maintain tracking logs for self-perform work, including quantities, materials, subcontractors.
- Review production and cost data with the Superintendent to ensure accuracy.
- Track differing site conditions and owner-directed changes to ensure all extra work is documented and processed for timely compensation.
- Serve as a technical resource by supporting safety plan implementation, submittal reviews, and subcontractor reconciliation to help keep the project on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare draft owner billings for Project Manager review.
- Maintain awareness of monthly cash flow.
- Perform all responsibilities of Project Engineer.
- Aid in progress schedule updates in accordance with contract requirements using appropriate software.
- Prepare, review, and submit RFI’s to the owner.
- Process submittals using project-required software.
- Obtain and maintain required project permits.
- Coordinate and track use of yard materials to support cost efficiency.
- Track and reconcile quantities performed against subcontract scope and special provisions.
- Train and mentor junior staff (Project Engineer), helping to develop their technical and professional skills.
- Develop and maintain the site-specific Emergency Response Plan.
- Review and process subcontractor safety documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Process job specific and owner safety permits.
- Maintain and audit inspection logs, JHAs, and permits.
- Cover traffic control plans for job-specific requirements.
- Promote and reinforce the company’s safety culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high-energy, team-oriented approach and a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling, and estimating.
- Proficient in Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams, Viewpoint Vista, and HCSS Heavy Bid, with the ability to quickly learn new software as needed.
- Educational background in engineering or construction-related fields.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships.

About the Role
