About the role
The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Project Engineer (F-18 Programs) to join the F/A-18 Project Engineering Team in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The selected candidate will serve as the single technical point of contact to the F/A-18 customer and Boeing leadership for various engineering changes, while maintaining technical management of the project through planning and progress measurement. Daily communication and coordination with the customer is expected.
This position is 100% onsite at Berkeley, MO. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required. A potential signing bonus may be available for eligible external candidates.
Responsibilities
- Leads Engineering Change Proposal activity from RFP (Request for Proposal) and proposal development through execution and contract delivery/closeout.
- Coordinates with technical leads, other program product teams, suppliers, and Boeing Global Services to ensure proposal and project statement of work are executed on time.
- Identifies and maintains day-to-day oversight of cost, schedule, and performance metrics, reporting to leadership.
- Maintains working-level customer relationships on the effort.
- Manages and ensures deliverables are submitted on time.
- Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
- Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
- Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.
- Provides technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of the project team plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in project or program management.
- 5 or more years of experience communicating with internal and external customers.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience of other related engineering disciplines to allow their integration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship is required to meet U.S. export control compliance and obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing cost and schedule performance using Earned-Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Experience developing and/or maintaining customer-focused metrics and reporting.
- Experience supporting the F/A-18 or other military programs.

Pay
Summary pay range: $136,850 - $185,150. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
